Virginia Beach is a resort city with miles of beaches and hundreds of hotels, activities, and restaurants along its oceanfront. Virginia Beach is an independent city located in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area of Virginia, on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.
Enjoy a walk along the three mile boardwalk during the Neptune Festival or a quiet breezy stroll at night.
Enjoy the pristine beaches, excellent food and nightlife or special events on the three mile boardwalk. There’s a big July 4th fireworks show, the Neptune Festival and even a monster truck on the beach show. My 4 yr old found that fantastic. 🙂

The Virginia Beach Town Center is located in the Central Business District of Virginia Beach. One can swing by the area for some great shopping or have some food. There are many places to grab a quick bite or go out for some fine dining. Nightlife includes a theater, comedy club, a live music series in the plaza, and other special events.
For a change of pace you can head down to the MOCA, Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, to view the ever changing and engaging exhibitions. MOCA’s Programs & Events include Family Fests, Pre-K Art Days, adult socials and more!
The ViBe Creative District is “A hub for artists and spirits, roasters and restaurants, workouts and wares, museums and more, the ViBe is where our creative businesses have set up shop to share their passion and inspire a sense of discovery in locals and visitors alike.” Some of the best and locally sourced food in town is there along with regular art and community projects.
If you’re living in Virginia Beach or visiting then you have more than just the Oceanfront beach to choose from. At the northern side of the city is the Chesapeake Bay beach. The water is calm, get’s deep pretty slowly and the waves are usually much milder. It’s a great place to take beginner swimmers.
